Sandra was first and foremost the cherished wife to Jerry Smith for 38 years. He was the love of her life. His voice and presence soothed her soul.
Sandra enjoyed a long career in nursing. She was at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth for 10 years, followed with 35+ years in skilled nursing at Azle Manor Nursing and Rehab. She nurtured and cared for so many in her skilled nursing career, that family and friends sent their loved ones to Azle Manor because Sandra worked there and they knew their loved ones would get the best care.
There was nothing in the craft world that Sandra couldn’t do. She was an accomplished in quilting, crochet, sewing, and macramé and the list goes on and on. Her family looked forward to her decorated cakes for their birthdays, baby showers, and weddings. She always brought crafts to family gatherings to keep the kiddos busy and she was right in the middle of all they were doing. Her granddaughters looked forward to quilting and sewing retreat vacations with their Mamaw.
She loved to get away with her girlfriends and go to sewing and quilting retreats. She was a beloved friend to many.
She was the first one to stand up for her family! She was not afraid to speak her mind and protect her flock. She was an amazing role model for her daughters and their children. The stories they can tell!
