Shirley Mae Poynter was born July 29, 1934 in Effingham, Illinois.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Robert Poynter of Granbury, TX, daughter Pamela Sue Regan, son-in-law David Regan, granddaughter Brenna Regan, grandson Aidan Regan and granddaughter Evelyn Regan all of Long Beach, New York. While raising a daughter, Shirley was a Dental Assistant most of her life and worked for Big Lots here in Granbury, TX. The store manager said that at age eighty, she could out work a lot of the younger employees.
She and Bob Have lived many places in Texas and the U.S., but also lived in American Samoa and the Virgin Islands where they spent many hours scuba diving and enjoying life. They had been RVing for thirty years and had many adventures in their travels. For the past eleven years they have been an important part of the community at Lake Granbury RV Ranch.
Shirley was a very warm, funny and likeable person. She liked jokes and also liked to tell adventure stories about her and BOB. She liked to swim in the pool, really enjoyed sewing and treasured a spot of tea. Shirley Poynter was eighty-one years young
