Meredith (Lewis) McFarlin left a message on September 9, 2022:
Steve and Sharay were the best Sunday school teachers! I was blessed to learn from them my junior and senior year, 1995 and 1996. I will be praying for Sharay and their boys. I have so many good memories of my time with the Boyntons and Steve had such a good sense of humor. I was heartbroken to hear of his passing.

There are no words to express the impact Steven had on my life. We bonded over being fellow adopted only children and our excellent musical tastes. My favorite thing about Stephen was that he saw the very best in people no matter what. He is so woven into the fabric of my Christian walk that when the waves of grief crash down, I can say It is Well with My Soul. He taught me to be still and know that He is God and I will never be able to drink a Coke or sing a classic rock song without thinking of him. My Beloved Brother, I will miss you terribly until I get to hug you again in Paradise. My tears may fall, but my heart smiles to imagine you getting to hear your precious Jesus tell you, "Well done, good and faithful servant!" Thank you for your service, your friendship, your example and your witness.

There are no words to express the impact Stephen had on my life. His most precious attribute was seeing the very best in people no matter what. We bonded over being fellow adopted only children and our excellent musical tastes! Forever my brother, I will never hear a classic rock song or drink a Coke without thinking of him. He is so woven into the fabric of my Christian walk and his example of a Servant’s heart that I can say It is Well with My Soul. He taught me to be still and know the He is God and when my heart is overcome be the enormous wave of grief, I imagine him getting to hear, “well done, good and faithful servant” and am blessed. I will miss you, Beloved, until I get to hug you again in Heaven. Thank you for sharing your life with us!
