Annette and family, I handled the entrants in the Great Race that year and we were so thrilled to work with Steve and the GHS boys in forming the XCup high school program. My brother Tom loaned them his ‘29 Model A Ford Racer, “Apollo,” to compete. Steve was such a great leader and I was so impressed when they won the XCup Division. Steve was a great example for those young men. R.I.P. Blessings, Sister

Annette and family, I was handling the entrants for The Great Race when my brother Tom McRae loaned his ‘29 Model A racer to Steve’s shop class for our initial X-cup entry in the Race that year. Steve was the ideal leader for those boys and how excited we all were to have GHS entered. I was so impressed with his skills and excellent way he handled them. So glad they won the scholarship money. So sorry for your loss. He has joined Tom and so many other Great Racers in Heaven. R.I.P. Blessings, Sister

My children remember, "If that don't get your fire going, your wood's wet!" I remember Steve's enthusiasm for the benevolence fund. He was always giving, making beautiful wood art and giving it away. One of those "mighty men of old" who is missed.
