Ted Gordon Carrigan

Ted Gordon Carrigan died peacefully at the age of 96 years and 11 months, on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, surrounded by his wife of 73 years, sons, daughters, a grandson and caregivers.

A Graveside service with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Biggers Funeral Home.

We held on to him until we released him into the arms of Jesus. We didn’t tell him goodbye, we just just said “see you later.” He will be missed by the family who loved him and by his wonderful and loving caregivers, Vickey Chandler and Marilyn McKinzie, who faithfully cared for him for eight years.

Ted will be remembered for his gentle and quiet spirit. Even in the worst of times he always spoke kindly of everyone.

He is survived by His wife, Mary Jane; sons, Glen and wife, Ivy, Donald and wife, Connie; daughters, Lynette McLain and husband, Don, Margie Carrigan and friend, Carroll; grandsons, Benjamin Wren, Adam and Matt Carrigan; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Tressie Jane Desmond; brother, John Carrigan; many nieces and nephews; and a myriad of friends. Also surviving are the wonderful memories of the greatest man we’ll ever know
