Tommy “Tom” G. January, Sr.

December 20, 1938 - October 12, 2013

A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Tommy “Tom” G. January, Sr., 74, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully Saturday October 12, 2013 with his family present. He had bravely confronted and fought cancer after being diagnosed on Father’s Day of this year.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 19, at Biggers Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date at the private family cemetery in Eustace.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made for a memorial to be placed in a memorial park currently being constructed in Rusk, Texas. Tommy G. January, Sr. Memorial Fund, Austin Bank, P.O. Box 289, Rusk, Texas 75785.

He was born December 20, 1938 in Athens, Texas.

Predeceased by his parents Derous and Velma January; sister Nevie Ann Hardcastle; brothers Robert and Weldon January.

He left behind his wife of 50 years, Margaret January of Fort Worth; daughter, Teresa January and grandson Michael January of Fort Worth; sons, Tommy Jr. and Grayson January of Fort Worth and Aaron January of San Antonio; sister, Shelby “Jan” Hardy of Rusk: brothers, James “Jimmy” and wife Ann of Mabank; Davis “Punky” of Athens.
