GRANBURY — Travis E. Alley, 87, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, in Granbury.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Wiley Funeral Home. Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, Granbury, Texas.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
Travis was born June 26, 1926, in Selma, Calif., to Travis Walter Alley and Sarah Myrtle Woodard Alley. He was a member of Granbury First United Methodist Church and Granbury Lions Club. He was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Moslah Shrine.
Travis served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946 on the U.S.S. Kearney, DD-432, in the Atlantic and Mediterranean as Quarter Master. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1973 after 23 years of service. Travis held degrees from San Angelo State College and his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law, graduating in May of 1950. He retired in April 2013 in Granbury after practicing law for over 63 years. Preceding him in death were his parents and first wife, Johnnie Sue Butler Alley.
Survivors: Wife, Wanda K. Alley of Granbury; sons, Richard Alley and wife, Traci, of Fort Worth, John B. Alley of Granbury; grandchildren, Trey Alley and wife, Felicia, Tara Flowers and husband, Quentin, Shannon Veitch and husband, John.
