Troy “Cecil” Baker

November 9, 1941 - February 14, 2016

Troy “Cecil” Baker, beloved husband, dad, and pop went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday February 14, 2016.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Cecil was born on November 9, 1941 to Tyra and Lola Mae Baker. He married his beloved Beth Walker on September 7, 1963 in Fort Worth and had two beautiful daughters and a cherished granddaughter. Cecil retired from Bell Helicopter as a timekeeper after 26 years. He was a jack-of-all trades and could fix anything. He loved going to pawn shops and watching PBR but most of all he enjoyed being with his “girls” and visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Beth; his daughters, Barbara Baker and Tammi Dykes and husband Shannon; granddaughter, Ashton Vermillion (his Squeak); brothers, John L and Jerry Baker; sister, Shirley Richardson.

I am so sorry for the lost of your beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. The more I learn about Cecil the more I learn he was a very interesting man. I wish I had spent some time sipping tea, talking, and getting to know him better. He obviously was a bright, gifted, and honest man, and I am poorer for having missed his life stories.
