My deepest sympathy to the Gaffey family during this sad time of your loss. During my career of 35 years at Bell I worked with and for Troy in the early days in Flight Technology as a Steno. Later, when he became Director of Design for the famous Osprey, I became his Secretary. That was very exciting time at Bell that I was privileged to be a part of from the beginning through it all until I retired and it was finally in production. Troy was highly respected by all and he will be missed by many.

Troy was my leader and mentor at Bell for several decades. He was undoubtedly the wisest, kindest, fairest person in his relationships as boss, fellow engineer and friend. Much of my success in the helicopter industry, I owe to Troy. I shall miss him dearly.

Troy was a friend and a mentor. I learned so much from him over the years. So many good memories. He loved aircraft and was so knowledgeable in all things aircraft. He loved conveying his knowledge. I would not be the engineer I am today without Troy's guidance. He will be missed. Thanks Linda for sharing him all these years at AVX. We are praying for you and the family.
