Valerie’s life was a true adventure, like one of the films or many books she enjoyed. Daughter of Jim and Mary Grider, Valerie was born on August 19, 1952 in Franklin, IN. The family of four eventually relocated to Fort Worth, TX, where Valerie met her soul mate and husband of 45 years, Tom Bullard.
The high school sweethearts shared a deep connection and were inseparable for 50 years. It was love-at-first-sight for Val, who knew Tom was ‘the one’ when he shook her hand instead of leaning in for a goodnight kiss after their first date. The couple lovingly raised two sons, ran multiple businesses, and made a wonderful life together.
Valerie was a beautiful woman—inside and out—whose kind and loving heart drew people in and warmed them. Her soft-spoken nature veiled an engaging wit and playful spirit. Valerie’s passion in life was people: bringing joy and helping others. Her legacy is one of love and true Christian generosity. She is greatly missed.
