GRANBURY — Vernon Lewis, 90, passed away Sunday morning July 10, 2016, in Granbury.
Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Burleson Church of Christ, Burleson, TX.
Interment: Burleson Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury, TX.
Vernon was born August 15, 1925 in Granbury to Gilbert and Nora Lewis. He was the only boy with seven sisters. Vernon married Lola Witt August 10, 1944 in Fort Worth. He was a member of Downtown Church of Christ in Granbury and a Mason. Vernon enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a Ranger baseball fan and loved to travel in his motor home. Vernon was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lola; his parents; and 6 sisters, including his twin.
Survivors: sons, Gary Lewis and wife Beverly, Dale Lewis and wife Celia, Bob Lewis and wife Dolores; grandchildren, Tammie Lewis and boyfriend Israel Casas, Gary Dewayne Lewis and wife Stephanie, Gregory Dean Lewis and wife Jamie, Kevin Lewis, Darrin Lewis and wife Tamara, Steven Lewis, Angela Edgington, Sheri Scott and husband Lamont; great grandchildren Ryan Hill and wife Lisa, Jacob Hill and wife Kimberley, Aimee Higginbotham and husband J.C., Gracie Lewis, Gabriel Lewis, Isabella Lewis, Emma Lewis, Colton Lewis, Garrett Lewis, Zachary Lewis, Hayden Lewis, Hope Lewis, Harrison Lewis, Peighton Fisher, Christian Fisher, Ben Edgington, Brooke Edgington, Blake Edgington; great great grandchildren Johanna Hill, Hayden Wilson; sister Frances Adams; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
