W.C. “Dub” Brown, 75, passed away on January 12th 2014 at his home in Granbury Texas.
He was born on the 16th of May 1938, in Bradshaw, Texas, to P.G. and Billie Ray Brown.
Memorial service: A memorial service will be held at Godley Western Fellowship, Thursday January 16th at 2pm. Pastor Don DeFoor officiating.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to charity of your choice or the Baby Owen Fund at Wells Fargo Bank in Godley, Texas.
Dub grew up in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1956.
After high school he worked his way up to management for M-system and Safeway. In 1978 he and wife Elma Jo opened Browns Place Grocery Store – Bait and Tackle in the Sandy Beach development, in Granbury, Texas. They ran it for 19 years. After selling his store he went back to his favorite area of work in the produce department at Kroger spending 10 years there before retiring in 2007.
Dub married Elma Jo, on June 16th,1957, in Weatherford, Texas. They were happily married for 56 years. Dub was a member of Godley Western Fellowship Church in Godley, Texas. He enjoyed being around his family, visiting with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dub was preceded in death by his father, P.G. Brown, mother Billie Ray Brown, and a half brother Joe Ed Brown in California.
Survivors: Dub is survived by his wife, Elma Jo, of Granbury, Texas; one brother, Terry and wife, Cassie, in Deleon; one sister Mary Johnson in Abilene; three children, Linda Armstrong and husband, Mark, of Godley; son, Donny Brown and wife, Renee, of Granbury, and daughter, Sharon Johnson and husband, James, of Granbury; five grandchildren, Jacob Armstrong and wife Autumn, Brandi Vyce and husband Rick, Danny Armstrong and wife Kristin, Nick Brown and wife Alyssa, and Amy Jones and husband Zack; nine great grandchildren R. J. and Ashley , Ryann and Rylee, Ty and Kolbie, Campbell, Capri and Suriah, with one more on the way in July; and numerous nieces and nephews.
