Waine F. Leggett, 73, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening, February 26, 2022, in Granbury. All services will be private. Waine was born on January 16, 1949, in Canton, Ohio to James and Eileen Leggett. On August 29, 1970, he married Kay Pigg and together they had two daughters, Amy and Sara. Waine received his Bachelor of Science degree from Fresno State University California in 1973. He promptly went to work for Atlantic Richfield Oil Co remaining for many years becoming Project Manager on the construction and barging of the original Flow Stations for the Alaskan Prudoe Bay Alaska pipeline. During this time transferring to live in Washington, Alaska and California. Finally, settling in Placerville, CA for 25 years then on to Granbury. After retiring, Waine and Kay became over-the-road team truck drivers in which they visited every state in the lower 48 enjoying the adventures along the way. He enjoyed “football Sundays” with his family and friends. Most of all, Waine will be remembered for putting family first, spending time with his daughters and granddaughter, who have so many memories of his silliness, tinkering, and patience.
Waine is survived by his wife Kay, of 51 years; his daughters Amy Gay, Sara Leggett and her fiancé Matt Miller, and granddaughter Ashley Gay, all of Granbury. Siblings Vicky Medlin of Quartz Hill, CA, Dana and wife Phoebe of Simpsonville, SC, and Sue Logsdon of Bakersfield, CA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Waine was also very close to his many brothers and sisters-in-laws.
Waine was preceded in death by his parents.
