Wanda LeMoine

Mrs. Wanda Carol Denton LeMoine, 84, of Granbury, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 1:35 pm on February 3rd after a lengthy illness.
She was surrounded by her beloved husband, daughter and son-in-law, sister and brother-in-law, and grandchildren.
Funeral will be held at First Baptist Church Granbury on Wednesday, February 7th at 10:00 am. Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6th at Wiley Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 pm.
Mrs. LeMoine was born November 6, 1933, in Knox City, Texas, to Jobie and Vera Yarbrough Denton. Her spiritual birthday was July 31, 1946, and she was baptized on August 4, 1946. Wanda graduated from Knox City High School in 1952. After graduation she moved to Abilene to attended Hardin Simmons University. Wanda Carol was a member of Cowgirls, Spanish Club and Sigma Tau Delta while there. In 1954 she met her husband to be, Mitch LeMoine, while attending chapel. It was love at first sight and they were married on April 7, 1955. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Lubbock, Texas where they completed their degrees at Texas Tech University. For the next thirty-three years Wanda impacted students’ lives while teaching High School English. When not teaching she loved oil painting, sewing and gardening. Her home was always filled with her beautiful paintings and flowers. She and her husband are faithful members of First Baptist Church Granbury where they have many loving friends.
She is survived by her husband, Mitch LeMoine; daughter, Lesa Moore and her husband Les; her grandchildren Cristopher Morton, Zachary Moore and wife Mandi, Savanah Riggs and husband Justin, Alyson Presley and husband Michael, and Caitlyn Morton. Great Grandchildren: Adyson, Ainsly and Auburn Presley; Maddox, Mia and Maverick Moore; and Jackson Riggs. Her sisters Jo Denton Smith of Midland and Pat Mendenhall and husband Lynn of Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her two children, Richard Dale and Mary Denise; sister, Joyce Janet Denton; brother-in-law John Ed Smith; and parents Jobie and Vera Yarbrough Denton.
We would like to thank all of those at Lake Granbury Medical Center and Harbor Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center who cared for Wanda Carol during her illness. Also, we want to thank Encompass Hospice for the outstanding care provided for Wanda and family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Texas Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital or your favorite charity.
