Wayne W. Towery, 91, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, in Biggers Funeral Chapel.
Interment: Boyd Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Biggers Funeral Home.
In his youth, Wayne was a boxer and a champion rodeo cowboy. He was also a lifelong meat cutter for several grocery stores. An avid animal lover, Wayne especially loved his dogs. Wayne was best known for selling watermelons and cantaloupes on Jacksboro Highway.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a brother and two sons-in-law.
He is survived by his Wife of 47 years, Pauline Towery; children, Carolyn Garcia, Sherry Van Hemert and husband, Joe, Paulette Stafford and husband, Rick, and Marvita Moser; sister, Jean Keasler and husband, JK; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
