Weldon Neil Cypert III, 68, of Perrin, TX, passed away on May 7, 2021.
Weldon was born January 12,1953 in Fort Worth, Texas, to Weldon Neil and Inita Alice Cypert, and grew up in Watauga, Texas. A beloved brother, father, and friend, Weldon was a renaissance man with many talents, and achieved success in a number of industries over the course of his professional life. His passion for starting new businesses and creating economic opportunity was only surpassed by his love of family, particularly for his daughter Jennifer and his grandchildren. Weldon was known widely for his generosity, always quick to help family, friends, and strangers in need. A natural leader, Weldon kept family and friends connected by organizing holiday and social functions, and keeping in touch with relatives far and wide.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Weldon became a master carpenter working for many years in all manner of commercial and residential construction. A successful entrepreneur, Weldon started a custom van conversion company in the 1980s, which he managed successfully for many years at the height of custom van popularity. His success with conversion vans segued into opportunities in the new car sales industry, with Weldon achieving success for many years across the Metroplex. Weldon then entered the auto collision repair business, owning and managing multiple paint and body shops. He also ventured into restaurant business with his brother Dale, founding and managing the Fort Worth Grill. After selling the restaurant, Weldon entered perhaps his favorite profession, long-haul trucking. As an owner-operator, he enjoyed many years on the open road, delivering the essential goods that are the lifeblood of American business and industry, which he continued until his passing. Weldon also was strong advocate for the trucking industry and its indispensable role in America’s economy.
Weldon is preceded in death by his father, Weldon Neil Cypert, mother Inita Alice Cypert, brother Joseph Manuel Cypert, and grandson Raidyn Durgin.
Weldon is survived by his daughter Jennifer Durgin and her husband Erik, grandson Tristyn Durgin, granddaughters Auryanna and Alyse Durgin, brother Cecil Cypert and his wife Pam, brother Dale Cypert and his wife Debbie, sister Cherryanna Ashcraft, sister Vicki Haynes and her husband Jeff.
