William Deane Slovacek, 74, a beloved husband, father and “PePaw,” passed away peacefully Friday, February 20, 2015, at his home.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Saginaw Church of Christ. Committal with military honors will be in Saginaw Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Memorial gifts may be made in the name of Deane Slovacek to Saginaw Church of Christ Building Fund, 201 Western Ave., Saginaw, Texas 76179.
William Deane Slovacek was born September 16, 1940, in Bryan to R.W. and Gladys Slovacek. He attended the University of Texas where he was the quarterback on the football team.
He proudly and honorably served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. While he was stationed at Rhein-Main Air Force Base he played on the Army football team.
Deane was preceded in death by his parents, R.W. and Gladys Slovacek, and his sister, Shannon Slovacek.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Pat Slovacek of Saginaw; children, Eric Ashcroft and wife, Eleni, of San Antonio, Kristin Hoffman and husband, Danny of Jamul, California, Chad Slovacek and Chance Slovacek of Fort Worth, Robby Springer and wife, Sara, of Plano, Tammy Ferraccio and husband, Ray, of Saginaw; brother, Robert Slovacek of Houston; grandchildren, Emma Ashcroft, Gentry Hoffman, Gannon Slovacek, Bryce and Brenna Slovacek, Matt Ferraccio, Megan Springer, Bailey Springer, Shelby Ferraccio, McKinley Camacho and Haygen Holbrooks; a host of extended family; and many friends.
