William, affectionately called “Bill”, was born July 8, 1931 in New Orleans, LA. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and graduated from LSU. Bill and his dear wife, Gloria Clay Kelly, recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. He worked for Merck for 35 years. He lived in Houston, Texas for 41 years, moving to Granbury in 2002. Bill dearly loved his family and impacted many lives. Bill was an avid fisherman and found time to drop a line wherever he could, especially from his boat, “EC’s”, while salt water fishing in Galveston Bay. He enjoyed playing golf, cooking and listening to good music. He never left his Louisiana roots far behind, always ready for a crawfish boil, shucking oysters or enjoying genuine Louisiana food. Bill coached girls softball, was a band fund raiser, an active member of the PTA and was involved in all aspects of his girls’ lives growing up. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Richard Kelly, Sr. and Marguerite Burst Kelly and younger brother, August Joseph Kelly.
