Steve was born February 17, 1930 in Chestnut, LA to RT and Mary Stevenson. He served in the U.S. Navy and studied Mechanical Engineering in Houston. He graduated from SMU Law School at the age of 50. Steve also celebrated that year by running 50 miles on his 50th birthday. He worked in Dallas County as Assistant District Attorney. He moved to Granbury in 1983 and practiced law until he retired at the age of 77. Steve served as Assistant District Attorney for both Erath and Hood Counties. He loved horses and became a breeder of POA and Quarter horses. Steve enjoyed duck hunting, water skiing, and ballroom dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Marilou and Helen.
Survivors include: children, Randy Stevenson and wife Shannon, Danny Stevenson and wife Patty, Teresa Lantgen and husband Brian, Karen Dixon and husband Ronny; step daughter, Jennifer Stevenson and husband Jeff Horner; grandchildren, Courtney, Matthew and wife Molly, Reanna and husband Bryce, Savanna and husband Shane, Jared, Jessica, Julia, Cody and wife Katie, Miles and wife Lindsey, Jeremy, Trey, Jordan; great-grandchildren, Genna, Aiden, Tegan, Campbell.
