I was lucky to see Barbara and James just before they moved from Alice, she was so happy that I stopped by to visit her, no matter what she did, she always did it with a laugh and a big old smile. Words can't say how much she will be missed!!! James, Scott, Brandi my family sends our condolences to yall. But know she is in heaven with her sister now and she is at peace. I will never forget that New Mexico trip we took with out kids and she came blasting down the mountain side in a tube, she easily flew 6ft in the air when she hit that bump and crashed into the snow. She hurt but she still got up laughed as best she could and went back up and slid down again. She loved her family and friends and we loved her back.

Mrs. Barbara was the sweetest, most loving lady and school worker my girls & I have Had the pleasure of knowing!! My girls always looked forward to going to school to see her and for their birthdays because Mrs. Barbara would bring them up in front of all their friends in the cafeteria for a birthday dance and song. We saw her at Walmart last month and she was in shock With how big my girls were and told Them how much she missed all her Hillcrest kids. She was definitely my ear on bad days and definitely let it be known when she was having one herself haha and I loved her for That. She will be somebody we truly miss and my heart goes out to all of her family during This difficult time, but just know that during her time here she really make an impact in a lot of lives and her memories will definitely live on.

James and Brandi There was only one Barbara Koenning in this world and I was so lucky to become a good friend of hers. I have so many funny memories of our good times we had at Hillcrest and I will cherish them always!! Because Barbara had so many friends, it was said by one of them that her funeral would have to be held at the football stadium so all could attend. She was one of a kind and loved by all! I pray both of you will find peace and comfort to mend your broken hearts.
