Daphne Burns was born February 27, 1926 and raised in Granbury as the fourth of five sisters by a widowed mother. She went to nursing school in Fort Worth where she met her future husband through her nursing supervisor, who was his stepmother. They married and moved to the Chicago/Milwaukee area for work. She Graduated at Marquette University with her Bachelor of Science. Daphne is survived by her Two daughters where they were born and the family moved to southern California where a son was born and 4 Grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, friend and everybody’s favorite neighborhood nurse.
She was very active in church, serving in child evangelism by teaching and developing training materials and holding children after-school clubs in the home. Daphne was always sharing her faith and knew where she was going when she died.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Angielee Raney and her husband Bob Burns.
Visitation: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Wiley Funeral Home.
Graveside Service: 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Holly Hills Memorial Park.
