GRAND PRAIRIE — Jay A. Lightfoot, 53, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Grand Prairie. Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Interment: 2 p.m. Tuesday in DeLeon Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Jay was born Oct 16, 1960 in Fort Worth to Charles W. and Billie Jo London Lightfoot. He graduated from Eastern Hills High School and was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Springtown. Jay was a private pilot and did his solo flight on his 16th birthday. He was a licensed aircraft mechanic, glider pilot and skydiver. He worked for Vaught Aircraft, Kitty Hawk Air Freight and Triumph Aerospace. Jay loved music, playing his guitar, trips to Alaska, his cabin in the country, building custom motorcycles and most of all, his family. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors: Wife, Angela Lightfoot; daughters, Sara and husband, Austin Bunker and Hanna Lightfoot; step-daughter, Amanda Carey; step-grandchildren, Jacey, Marley and Charley; mother, Billie Lightfoot; brother, Paul and wife, Sherry Lightfoot of Burleson; nephew, Daniel Lightfoot; and niece, Jodie Bruce.
