SUNSET — SUNSET — Keith McKinnon, 73, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 in Dallas. Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: American Heart Association.
Keith Andrew McKinnon was born December 10, 1941 in Delta, Colorado to Claude Dan McKinnon and Hilda Harriett King McKinnon. He retired from the Glen Rose Independent School District as Director of Transportation.
Keith was a horse trainer and raced thoroughbred and quarter horses all over the country, followed NASCAR, was a member of the Comanche Peak Muzzle Loaders Association and attended their rendezvous both locally and throughout the United States. Keith loved his job with Bus-Air Manufacturing that allowed him to travel to school districts all over Texas where he made many lifelong friends. Keith loved his boss, Tony and wife, Christy Woods. Keith traveled and spent time with friends and family. He loved to go to Colorado to ride four wheelers and hunt. His top hand and traveling companion was his dog, PEDRO.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Veldon McKinnon, Dan McKinnon and Bob Joe McKinnon.
Survivors: Children, Eddie and Angie Edwards, Tina Birdwell, Keith “Skeeter” and Mary McKinnon, Tara and Lance Rigby, Angela Adams, Karyn and Tim Adkins; grandchildren, Nichole, Ashton, Shee, Rustin, Keith William, Aspen, Jessica, Stormi, Tabitha, Rebekah, Givyn and Grayci; eight great grandchildren; brother and sisters, Peewee McKinnon, Betty Lou Ragsdale and Mary Ann Southers; and a number of nieces and nephews.
