GRANBURY — Marlin Odell Carter, 54, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 17, 2016, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Service: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury, Texas.
Interment: Nubbin Ridge Cemetery, Granbury.
Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016.
Marlin was born on January 28, 1962 in Houston, Texas to Odell and Artie Mae Carter. Before moving to Granbury, Marlin raised his family in Sherman, Texas. He admired and respected his dad and became a man of God. He loved God’s creation and the great outdoors in the form of hunting, fishing and hiking. He was a former member of Western Heights Church of Christ and currently a member of Glenview Church of Christ in Glen Rose. He was active with his camping crew and fishing buddy, Don Sharp. He loved bluegrass music, cooking and spending time with his family, He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors: Children, Julianne and Tyler Carroll, Emily Carter; grandson, Teague Carroll; mother, Artie Carter; brothers and sister, Brenda Baskin and Mark, Laura Turner and Jim, David Carter and LeAnne and Vanessa Springer and Mike; nieces and nephews, Kristin Gibbs, Blake Gibbs and Taylor, Trent Gibbs, Hannah Carter, Colt Carter and numerous nieces and nephews.
