Bill was born on February 20, 1936 in Stephenville, Texas to Frazier and Myrtle Thompson. He served two terms in the U.S. Army. He received his bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University. He married Ruth Stroud on January 4, 1963 in Granbury, Texas. Together, they raised their daughter, Millicent. Bill was a maintenance technical instructor at Cleburne ISD and at the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Lawrence, Kansas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Granbury and the Granbury Masonic Lodge 392. He enjoyed woodworking. He loved talking to people. One of his favorite things to do was to be a bell ringer for the Salvation Army at Christmas time. He was also a member of the Senior Circle for 12 years.
Bill is survived by his wife: Ruth Thompson, and daughter Millicent and her husband Justin Durant.
