Rick Creel, age 72, passed away, November 10, 2016 in Granbury, Texas. He was at home surrounded by his loving family. Rick was born on September 3, 1944 in Wylie, Texas.
Rick is survived by wife: Linda Creel, sons: James William Creel and wife Shana Turner Creel, Michael Anthony Creel and wife Jennifer Chiavetta-Creel, grandchildren: Andrew Stephen Creel, Julian Vincent Chiavetta, and Knox Calvin Tillemans, nephew: Thomas Campbell, niece: Verlene Palmer, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Retta Brown Creel, six siblings, and son: Stephen Wayne Hill Creel.
Married for 51 years, Rick married Linda Hill on May 28, 1965. He affectionately referred to Linda as his yellow rose throughout their relationship. Together Rick and Linda raised their three sons. Rick enjoyed being a part of his community through church ministry, spending time with family and friends, and traveling the world. They spent 20 of their 51 years of marriage outside of the United States, working and traveling abroad. Rick proudly served his country and retired after a successful 30-year career in the U.S. Navy. He was a Master of Arms, 1st Class for the Military Police. Rick was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
Visitation: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 19, 2016, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel located at 400 E Hwy 377 in Granbury, TX.
Services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church.
