Dora Elizabeth Sims, 88, of Lipan, Texas passed away on Sunday, January, 21, 2018. Memorial service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 3, 2018, First Baptist Church, Lipan.

Dora was born in Palo Pinto County, Texas on April 3, 1929 to Silas and Martha Slimp. She married George Sims in 1945. Dora was a member of the First Baptist Church Lipan, where she worked as church secretary until her retirement last year.

Dora was always a very loving and supportive mother to her three boys. She was a stay at home mom during their school years, always being very active and involved in both their studies and sports activities. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was very involved with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Sims and her brother Walter Slimp.

Survivors: Sons Rex Sims (Debbi), Stan Sims (Betty), Randy Sims (Michelle); grandchildren Daniel Sims (Maria), Jennifer Wells (Justin), Joseph Sims (Lori), Carrie Knight (Lanny), Jessica Guevara (Patrick) and Kiana Sims, 11 great grandchildren and siblings Wesley Slimp, Donald Slimp and Cathy Ellis.
