Shirley was born on July 13, 1937 in Granbury, Texas to Ewell and Agnes Fant. She married Clarence McDonald Marrs on August 12, 1955 in Weatherford, Texas. She cherished time spent with her granddaughters.
Shirley loved watching old Westerns, basketball, and volleyball games. She and her daughter Marcia were on a volleyball league in the early 1980’s. Shirley loved playing dominos and listening to bluegrass and gospel music. She also enjoyed spending time with Marcia’s animals. Shirley was an active member of Thorp Spring Baptist Church, and was a fixture there. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister: Fay, brothers-in-law: Burl Green and Kevin O’Brien, and niece: Carolyn Green.
Shirley is survived by her children: Marcia Smith and husband Ron, and Thomas Marrs and wife Laura, granddaughters: Delaney Marrs and Hallie Marrs, sisters: Lois Green and Dorothy Jo O’Brien, brother-in-law: Pete Croy, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
