Orvil Lee “Butch” Patterson, 87, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017.
Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017, in Biggers Funeral Chapel.
Committal with Masonic Graveside rites under the auspicies of Azle Masonic Lodge #601 A.F. & A.M. at Ash Creek Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at the funeral home.
He was born in Poolville, and moved to Azle as a teenager. He was well respected as a businessman and owned Ash Creek Enterprises for many years in Azle as well as a member of the Azle Chamber of Commerce. He was the Senior Past Master of Azle Masonic Lodge #601 and a sixty year member. He was an original member of the Aztex Saddle Club and helped build Aztex Arena. He was also a member of the Southern Streetsters Car Club for many years. He owned many horses, cows, boer goats, and other live stock over the years and was an avid rancher.
Butch was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Patterson George; his parents, Kenneth and Audie Patterson; brothers, J.T., Norman, Wyman, and Danny Patterson; and stepsons, Mike Parten and Randy Parten.
Survivors: include his wife, Wanda Patterson; children, Eric Patterson and wife, Loli, Kim Shelton and husband, Allan, Russ Parten, and Vicki Parten; brothers, Kenneth Patterson, Willis Patterson, and Joe Patterson; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and caring friends.
