Aaron Lee Stevens, 59, passed away at his home Friday, July 29, 2016, after a courageous battle with oral cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 13, at Ash Creek Baptist Church, 300 South Stewart Street, Azle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Ash Creek Baptist Church, Next Harvest Building Fund in Aaron’s memory.
Aaron was born in Arkadelphia, Arkamsas to Samuel J. Stevens Jr. and Carolyn June Bell. He attended kindergarten and first grade in Carthage, Missouri, where his father was pastor of Temple Baptist Church. He moved to Azle in 1965, and graduated from Azle High School in 1975. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1980 aboard the USS Forestal. During his years as a truck driver, he traveled through 38 states and Washington, D.C.
At age nine, Aaron professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized by his father at Ash Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1999.

Aaron is survived by his daughter, Ashley Nicole Stevens; mother, Carolyn J. Bell Stevens; and many loving, supportive extended family and friends.
