KAILUA, HAWAII — Sgt. Andrew S. White, 31, United States Marine Corps, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, in Hawaii.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Lakeside Baptist Church. Cremation will follow the service.
Sgt. White was born Aug. 30, 1982, in Alabaster, Ala., to Steven Barry White and Marsha Darlene Meals White. He married Mary Jane R. Delim, Oct. 7, 2011, in Japan. Family time was very important to him. He loved to hike, canoe, kayak and play horseshoes. He followed baseball and all sports. Andrew was very proud to be a Marine. He loved his wife Mary Jane and cared for his dog “Mugger”.
Survivors: Wife, Mary Jane White; parents, Steve and Darlene White; brothers and sisters, Stephanie Ritchie and husband, Hugh, Heather White and Eric Dettmers, Nikki Wann and husband, Ronnie, Daphne Carias and husband, Alex, Erin Samsell and husband, Josh, William White and Taylor Schmeets; grandfather, Marshall Meals; best friend and brother, Jared Williams and wife, Sarah; nieces and nephews, Blake, Bryson, Samantha, McKenzie, Cameron, Nickolas, Lane; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

I am so sorry to hear about Andrew... My prayers are with you all. I remember when I met Andrew a long time ago, at the White reunion..I think I was twelve... He was such a nice kid, we ran around and had fun that day. That is what I will always remember.

We sure had fun growing up playing baseball together. I'll never forget spending the night at your house and getting to ride your go cart. You were always the nicest guy. Thank you for your service. I'm sorry to the family for the loss.

You could always make me laugh and I will remember that forever. Thanks for being a great friend. Take care until we meet again.

Andrew, First off I want to thank you for taking care of my sister. I am blessed that you were part of my life and always will be. I will never the memories i had with you; waking me up while you were in the kitchen getting some soup, playing cranium or even just shuffling with my sister around me. I am so proud to call you my brother in law. I love and miss you dearly.

I met Andrew through one of my very best friends Daphne and Alex. We lived in Nacogdoches at the time and Andrew would come and visit and we'd all have the best time visiting, telling stories and creating memories. I'll never forget how he'd always tell us how Daphne and his sisters would make him dance or make him watch their routines when he was little. He always imitated them and it was so funny. My memories of Andrew are always laughing and having a good time. My heart is so heavy for Daphne and Alex and the rest of the White family. I remember Andrew and my son Brad playing baseball together long time ago. Andrew was always a considerate and nice young man . My heart goes out to Whites. GOD has a very ,very nice marine and brave good man with him now. GOD bless.

I knew Andrew back when he was 5. His sister Heather was my best friend for many years. My prayers are with the family. I know he is dearly missed by all he touched.
