Beverly Kay Shelton
Granbury, Texas
Beverly Kay Shelton, 68, died peacefully at home in Granbury from complications of Parkinson’s Disease on December 1, 2018. Born on December 5, 1949, to A. C. Reeves and Myrtle Elizabeth Tucker, Beverly was the youngest of ten children and grew up in Midland. She began a friendship with Ernest “Ernie” Wayne Shelton Jr. in the seventh grade, and they were married on February 8, 1969, after both graduated from Midland High School. The young couple lived in Levelland, Abilene, and Houston, before settling in Longview where they raised their daughter Stacy, were members of Wesley-McCabe Methodist Church, and lived for over thirty years. Beverly began a career in banking while in high school, which continued until she retired in 2011. That year Beverly and Ernie moved to Granbury to be closer to their daughter and her family. Quiet natured, Beverly loved dogs, shopping trips, Texas Rangers baseball, and chocolate, but being a grandmother was what she loved best. Beverly leaves her husband Ernie; her daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Adam Fuller of Fort Worth; grandchildren Eli, Ava, and Sam Fuller; sisters Betty Bagwell of Katy and Nancy Young (and her husband Wayne) of Panola; and brothers Charles Reeves of Marble Falls, Leroy Reeves (and his wife Mary) of Burnet, and Bobby Reeves (and his wife Shirley) of Midland. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Sybil Jonas and Joan Newton, and brothers Al Reeves and Billy Reeves. The family will hold a celebration of life on January 19, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Waples United Methodist Church in Granbury. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local animal welfare organization.
