Clara Teague Brooks and Otis Thomas Brooks, 23 year residents of Granbury until this last April, passed away respectively on Monday, September 28th and Thursday, December 31st, 2015 in Reno, Nevada where they had moved to be with their son. Clara was 87 and Otis was 89. Their memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January, 26, 2016 at the Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.
Burial will be at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth.
Clara, the daughter of Marcus and Ruth Phillips Teague, was born in Quinlan Texas on October 9, 1927. Otis, the son of Rester and Ava Helvenston Brooks, was born in Chillicothe, Texas on December 23, 1926. Otis was an aerophysicist in the defense aerospace industry who worked for Chance Vought, LTV Aerospace, North American Rockwell, and Motorola at locations throughout the United States. He was an avid hunter and gourmet cook. Clara was a homemaker and intensely competitive bridge player. Together they traveled the world, including most of Europe, Latin America, and Australia and New Zealand.
They are survived by their sons, Brent Brooks (and his wife Jill) of Reno, Nevada and Richard Brooks (and his wife Birgit) of Clemson, South Carolina, and their granddaughter Abigail Kitchin (and her husband David) and great-grandsons, Eli and Josiah Kitchin, of Mexico City, Mexico.
