Emma Jo Smith, 73, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Dicey Cemetery in Parker County. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Emma was born November 30, 1940, in Dicey and was a lifelong area resident. She was raised in White Settlement and graduated from Brewer High School in 1959. She worked in administration at Commercial Metals Co. for 27 years before her retirement in 2004. After her retirement, she volunteered at North Hills Hospital for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Eula King; and a brother, A.E. “Gene” King.
She is survived by her children, Susie Hubbard and husband, James, and Judith Stratemeier and husband, Mike, Roger Griffin and wife, Teresa, Lisa Odom and her husband, Martin, and Dane Griffin; grandchildren, Michelle Owens, Stacey Owens, Justin Owens and wife, Sharla, Christopher Denson and wife, Natalie, Nathan Odom, Jefferson Odom, James Griffin, Kally White, David Griffin and Joel Odom; great-grandchildren, Jacklin Owens, Justin Owens, Andre’ Owens and Greyson Odom; brother, James R. King Jr. and wife, Beverly; and sister, Zola Hilton.
