Gary Scruggs

Gary Linn Scruggs, 57, of Granbury died Friday, March 6, 2015 in his home surrounded by family as a result of a life tragically shortened by colon cancer.
Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Martin’s Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation: 4 – 8 pm. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that gifts be made in the form of donations to the Colon Cancer Alliance.
Gary was born to the late Charlie and Lucy Scruggs on December 12, 1957 in San Antonio. He graduated from Granbury High School in 1976 after which he began working as a master electricial and jack-of-all trades.
He will be fondly remembered for his love of coaching, window fishing from the couch in the living room, his love of the Dallas Cowboys, time spent at his home on the lake and out on the boat, selflessly giving of his time and opening his home to other’s in their time of need. Gary would give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it.
He is survived by his wife of ten years, Frances Garcia of Odessa; children, Amanda of Fort Worth and Josh of Austin; brothers, David of Houston and Charlie of Cleburne; grandchildren, Liam of Fort Worth and Ethen of Austin. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy of Granbury.
