Irena Christena Hughes

Irena Christena Hughes passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 at 7:25 PM at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.  Memorial Service: 1:00 pm Friday, January 12, 2017 at Birdville Baptist Church.

Irena was born Irena Christena Reed in Saint Jo, Texas in Montague County to the late, Carver H. Reed and Lorena M. Reed.  She attended Saint Jo High as a young girl in the ‘40s where she enjoyed attending the social activities such as the Drama, Music and English clubs. She later moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where she met and married the father of all her children, Larry, Robert and Shirley in 1948.  Irena and her husband, J.P. (Pete) Forester moved to Fort Worth in 1949 where they lived until death.  Irena enjoyed her life and family more than anything. She loved to sit and tell stories about times passed and tales about the old days. She could remember everything. She loved crossword puzzles, crocheting, gardening (especially roses) bingo and reading romance novels.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley A. Lovett and sister, Myrtle Pilcher.

Survivors: sons; Larry Forester and wife, Cherry, Robert Forester and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Michelle and Brian, Brandy, Chrystal, Chelsea, Josh, Thomas, Regina, Linda, and Amber; great-grandchildren, Shawna, Misty Dawn, Adam, Robert, Catrina, Zachary, Jesse, Jacob, Robert Allen, Alexis, Rayanna, Pio, Haley, Nicole, Jimi , Gage, Emma, Jayden, Arianna, Anaya, Ivory, Gabriel, Daven, Talia,  Riliegh; great-great-grandchildren, Luna, Kyle, Sariah; adopted daughters, Diane and Kathy.
