James R. Trammell, 88, beloved husband and father passed-away in Fort Worth, Texas on July 31, 2020, and now rests contentedly and comfortably with his Lord and Savior. In consideration of the current times in which we live, a memorial service with James’ immediate family was held on August 6th, 2020 at Silver Creek Methodist Church in Azle, Texas. We look forward to a fuller celebration of James’ life, which will be announced at a later date and will include his extended family and many friends who love and miss him.
James R. Trammell was born on March 27, 1932 in Waurika, Oklahoma and was preceded in death by his parents Remlous R. Trammell and Alma McNabb Trammell, as well as his 2 brothers and 2 sisters. James is survived by his wife, Doris Hoover Trammell; Son, Travis Trammell; Daughter, Donella Swartz; Son, Doyle Trammell; Daughter, Danna Curtis; Daughter, Denise Sparks, and their spouses, children, and grandchildren. James, in beautiful concert with Doris, devoted their lives to their 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and never failed in loving them deeply and without end.
James and Doris, met in Fort Worth, Texas, and were married on October 27, 1949. Theirs was a lasting love story that began in the summer of 1948 when they met. It continued and grew into the fall of 1949 when they married and flourished throughout their near 71 years of marriage. Their love story will abide until they are joyfully reunited in Heaven to live forever in the supreme culmination of God’s promises. Precious memories with James/Daddy/Papa will be cherished and we will forever benefit from the rare gift of his amazing character, love, and devotion. Well done good and faithful servant.
