Jane was born on October 2, 1937 to John and Sarah King in Vernon, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, WMU, and the Wednesday Bunco Club. The Round Table Book Club that she organized at First Baptist Odessa served 250 women and culminated with an annual women’s event, The Round Table Roundup.
She was proud to be a homemaker. It was her highest and greatest blessing to watch her girls grow into the women God designed them to be. She was involved greatly in the care of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful assistant to her husband of 55 years enabling him to succeed in his many accomplishments. She went to school to be a cosmetologist and you had to give her a kiss before you got out of the chair or it wasn’t free. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jan L. Brooks, her parents, and her granddaughter, Kerri Kay Walker.
