Janis Gayle Niswanger, loving mother of 5, died peacefully at home on May 14th surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Raymond Niswanger, and her brother, James Brock. She is survived by her 5 children, Karen, Mark, Joyce, Karl (and Kelley), Kevin (and Pilar), 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Richie, Cammie, Shea, Shon, Shaina, Charles,
Heather, Tyler, and Cindy, 5 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ivy, Caden, Garrett, and Trevor, and 1 great great grandchild, Brexley.
Janis was born on December 1, 1932 in Valley Mills, TX to James and Myrtle (Lynch) Brock. She graduated Valedictorian from Valley Mills High School and attended Baylor College in
Waco. She married Raymond Avery Niswanger in Denver, CO in 1950. Between 1974 to 1976, Janis and Raymond together built their dream retirement home with their very own hands in the
country outside of Granbury, where they enjoyed the remainder of their lives. Janis lived a full life and showed kindness to everyone she met. She loved crafting, antiquing, gardening, and
having family come together in her home.

Viewing will be held at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury on Friday, May 17th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial services will be on Saturday, May 18th, at 11:00 am at Long Creek Cemetery in
Hood County.
