Michaeleen Ferstl Meyer Toler passed away peacefully on April 20, 2023 surrounded by family in her home in Granbury, Texas.
Michaeleen was born in September 1942 in Fort Worth to John Michael Ferstl and Frances Cope Ferstl. She was an honor graduate of Poly High School where she was Drum Major of the Poly Band. She went on to earn her Bachelor and Masters degrees in education at Texas Christian University, and was the head twirler of the TCU Horned Frog Band.
Michaeleen and Jerry Lewis Meyer were married in 1969 in Fort Worth. They joined Michaeleen’s parents who owned Ferstl Inc. making and designing furniture, and eventually became lead designer for Vecta Furniture, a division of Steelcase. She and Jerry owned several convienence stores throughout the Fort Worth & Burleson area. She lost Jerry to cancer in 2002.
Michaeleen and Ray Toler were married in 2004 at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. They moved to Granbury two years later and have loved living on the lake. Michaeleen designed their home which became a center of activity for family and friends including four weddings. Michaeleen is survived by her husband Ray, two daughters: Holly Gonzalez and her husband Ron, and Mikey Rollins and her husband Charlie; stepsons Ray Toler, Jr and his wife Mary, Eric Toler and his wife Fawne, and Julie Toler, whose husband Bryan Toler preceded Michaeleen in death. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two sisters: Diana Stockdale and Cheryl Merchant, and nieces/nephews Michelle, Georgia, Anita, Leanna, Whitney and John Michael.
A memorial service will be held at the Acton Methodist Church soon.
