CROWLEY — Joy “Old Grandma” Walker, 81, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, in Burleson.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Granbury First Baptist Church. Burial: White Church Cemetery in Somervell County. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, #105, Fort Worth, Texas 76107.
Mrs. Walker was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Anton, Texas, to Thomas and Effie Chapman Hill, the youngest of 6 children. She married Lawrence Murry Walker, Dec. 31, 1949, in Hot Springs, N.M. She lived in Granbury since 1995, moving to Crowley this year. She was baptized a Primitive Baptist in 1946 and was a member of First Baptist Church. Joy worked for J.C. Penny for 17 years. Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, two sisters, sons Larry and Steve, and husband, Murray.
Survivors: Daughter-in-law, Darlene Walker; grandchildren, Jennifer, Chris, Beth; five great grandsons; sister-in-law, Carretta Cashion; numerous nieces and nephews.
