Lisa Michelle Clay-McPherson, Age 49, passed away Sunday October 4, 2020. She was born on April 30, 1971 in Canyon, Texas; the daughter to Jo Anne and Al Clay.

Lisa always reached for higher goals and dreams. Lisa graduated from Granbury High School in 1989. She went onto graduate with a double major of Finance and Criminal Justice at Stephen F. Austin State University.

She was a model for Guess; A Paralegal for attorneys in Dallas for years; and did payroll in Afghanistan and Iraq.

She often kept up with friends she made in school and life. She was a Christian and shared her love of the Lord with everyone. Lisa also helped pass a bill concerning spousal abuse. This law made it possible to charge murder if death occurred to a spouse from abuse.

Lisa recently realized her dream of moving to Hawaii. She was ready to begin her life anew with great joy.

Lisa is survived by her parents: Al and Jo Anne Clay; children: Maelyn McPherson, 12 years old and Braedon McPherson, 11 years old; both from Colorado.

Lisa was a bold witness, and an overcomer. She had a way of seeing the possibilities. I am not sure I have ever met anyone as determined to serve the Lord and proclaim His kindness. I will always remember her devotion to God, how much (we could tel by the way she spoke) that she loved her parents, as well as her selfless love for her children.

I will always remember Lisa as a young girl playing with my kids, she was a sweet girl and always had a smile on her face, she will be missed.

Al and JoAnne, I was so sad to hear of Lisa's death just after her excitement of moving to Hawaii. Lisa and I had numerous talks at church (TC) and She was always just a light -always exhibiting joy in the midst of her many health challenges. She also told me many times of her love for her children and hope of one day seeing them again. Lisa was a delightful friend, who had such a heart for Jesus, a heart for you two and her children, and cared for others in such a sweet way. Lisa will be missed, since she was loved by so many!

I met Lisa a few years ago in church and she was a beautiful person inside and out, she will be missed by all who knew her, May she rest easy in her Fathers arms, what a blessing to have known Lisa. Condolences and prayers for her family.

I met Lisa in church a few years ago and she was such a blessing and light. When many of us struggled with life, she was always quick to come alongside us. She never complained and her spirit was always joyful. I’m incredibly sad that I won’t be able to see Lisa again this side of heaven but I’m so grateful to know that there is no doubt that I will see her again in paradise. Rest easy beautiful friend. Lisa was such an awesome person! I am so very sad to hear this news. I have so many great memories of spending time at the community swimming pool with Lisa, Al, and Jo Anne during the summer months of the mid-80s. My condolences go out to her family.
