Louis C. Luersen, 88, of Granbury, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.  Graveside service: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 12, 2018, Holly Hills Memorial Park, Visitation: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Monday, June 11, 20108, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.

Louis was born on December 9, 1929 in Lockhart, Texas to Walter and Hertha Luersen.  He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He received his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.  He married Hortense Kreidel in 1972 in San Marcos, Texas. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

After retiring from the Soil Conservation Service, he drove a bus for Granbury ISD.  He volunteered with the Hood County Volunteer Fire Department and the Boys Scouts of America.  He started and worked with the Citizens on Patrol.  Louis was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and four sisters.

Louis is survived by his loving wife: Hortense Luersen, five children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
