GRANBURY — Francis Summers, 99, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 in Granbury. Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Granbury. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Granbury First United Methodist Church Building Fund, Cancer Care services or charity of choice. Born Lucy Francis Cotton in the Mambrino Community on May 18, 1916 to George W. and Maggie Umphress Cotton, she attended school in the Mitchell Bend and Mambrino area and graduated from Granbury High School. Francis loved her family, her yard and flowers including her huge magnolia tree, Granbury First United Methodist Church, helping others, working jigsaw puzzles and traveling. She worked at the telephone company when there were still operators to talk to; for several flower shops; Porter Abstract and Title Company and the County Treasurer’s office, but for the most part, she was a stay at home mom who was very active in her daughter’s school and in her church. Francis was preceded in death by her parents; a loving husband, W.R. “Buster” Summers; grandson, Wade Lynn Purselley; beloved son-in-law, Donald Lee Purselley; sisters, Charlton Crisp, Susan June Blakely and Gwyn Bowser; brothers-in-law, Gerald Bowser, R.G. Gillen, Norman Gillen, Maurice Summers, Ewell Reed, Earl Blakely and Marvin Crisp; and sisters-in-law, Christine Summers, Mary Beth Brewer, Ann Reed, Cleo Hall and Nita Gillen. Survivors: Daughter, Kathy Purselley; brothers-in-law, Ted Brewer and Tom Gillen and wife, Carol; nine nieces and nephews including Laura Grisham and husband, Keith and Rebecca Fleming and husband, Randy of Granbury; many great nieces and great nephews including Whittnei Crozier and Audra Derrez; great great niece, Claire Derrez and great great nephew, Travis Derrez, all of Granbury; extended family, Christy and David Durant, Bobby and Jo Lynn Crozier, Jeff Pate, Austin Enty and Ronnie Derrez.
