Mary Elsie Murdock, age 78, passed away from this life on Sunday, March 19, 2023 in Fort Worth..

Service: 10:00 am, Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Redeemer Bible Church,100 Verna Trail N., Fort Worth

Visitation:  6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, March 24, 2023 at Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Avenue, Lake Worth, Texas 76135.

Inurnment:  She will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma National Cemetery at a later date.

She was born on July 10, 1944 in Merced, CA to Aurelio Naranjo and Helen Herrera. She had one brother, Albert.

Mary married John A. Murdock III at Castle AFB in Merced, California and they had two children, Victoria Murdock and John A. Murdock IV.

Mary comes from a big family in California with lots of Aunts, Uncles, and many cousins. She married a military man, then her adventures took her to Ohio, Florida, Turkey, New Mexico, Arizona, then Fort Worth, Texas. She loved her family very much and was always willing to help where she could. Mary helped raise her grandchildren and volunteered where they attended school. She enjoyed being a chaperone at band functions, enjoyed the outdoors and would take her grandkids to the Zoo and the Botanical Gardens. Mary would make picnic lunches and have picnics with her grandkids underneath a tree at the house. She enjoyed sitting on the back porch listening to the birds, watching the squirrels, and tending to her flowers. During her time when she was not with her grandchildren, Mary volunteered at her church and would help in different ways, such as, helping in AWANA with the cubbies, help collect items for different charities like Union Gospel and Grace House, or helping out at different church functions when the church needed a helping hand. She was loved and admired by many.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents and brother.

She is survived by her two children, Victoria and John; her four grandchildren, Jacqueline Murdock, John A. Murdock V, Selena Murdock (Pieczynski), and Maria Murdock; eleven great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
