Mary Ruth Prather-Springfield

Mary Ruth Prather Springfield was released into the arms of her heavenly father on Sunday March 29, 2020 at her home in Springtown, Texas.
Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2020 in Jaybird Cemetery, Springtown.
Visitation: 10 a.m. until service time, Wednesday at Jaybird Cemetery.
The family welcomes close friends and family to the outdoor service keeping in mind the social distancing rules that are currently in place. Please be responsible and respectful of safe distancing.

She was born on the K Ranch near Springtown on May 30, 1935 to Isaac Eugene Prather and Audra Roberts Prather. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was born again and baptized by his Spirit on August 21, 1955 at Walnut Creek Baptist Church.
A life-long resident of Parker County, she graduated from Springtown High School in 1953 where she excelled in Future Homemakers of America and served as the Area secretary.
She married Don Truman Springfield on March 25, 1955 and celebrated 65 years with the love of her life this past week. They were soulmates, and each other’s first and only true love.
She was a woman with a servant’s heart. She loved and served God with all of her mind, heart and soul. She devoted much of her time volunteering in church. She was a phenomenal Bible teacher. She witnessed to people of all ages as she taught Vacation Bible School and many ages of adult Sunday school classes during her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springtown.
Mary had a special talent for sewing and crafting clothes, curtains, quilts and pillows.
She enjoyed life as a homemaker on her farm, raising pigs, cows, horses, and chickens.
She also canned and put up vegetables from their large gardens. She loved flowers, especially red roses. She was a doting wife, grandmother and great-grandmother, and loved spending time with her family and cooking delicious meals for them.
Mary was a precious treasure to her family. Her battle with kidney failure taught them all how to live a strong, courageous and peaceful life in all situations. She suffered with dignity and grace. She always had the sweetest smile and was the sweetest patient even in the midst of suffering. She impacted many lives by her countenance. The light of Jesus was radiantly shining in and through her striking blue eyes, silver hair and sweet smile. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. Mary was truly a picture of the Proverbial woman in the bible. A wife of noble character, worth far more than rubies. Her husband had full confidence in her. Her children and grandchildren arise and call her blessed, her husband praises her. Her value is immeasurable. Most importantly she was a woman who feared the Lord and is to be praised. She has earned her reward and is now enjoying life everlasting in the arms of her heavenly Father. What a beautiful vision of her new life. She was excited and so ready to leave this earth and be in his arms where all things are made perfect. Let us rejoice and be glad for this is the day of the Lord has made.
We give God praise and glory for Mary’s salvation, for eternal life and for Jesus who made this all possible. May her life be the example we all strive to live.
Survivors: She is survived by her husband Don Springfield; her son, Keith Springfield and wife Gina; her daughter, Nancy Springfield Bayouth and her husband, Mark; Mary had one granddaughter, Alyssa, and four grandsons, Dillon, John Mark, Luke, and Matthew. She also had one great-grandson, Lawson. Jaylee Barbee has been in her life for the past four years as a kind and compassionate caregiver. She felt such peace with Jaylee caring for her.
