Samuel “Sam” Cole Phillips, 27, passed away on Friday; June 26, 2020 in the Colony TX. Sam was born March 31, 1993 in Ft. Worth, TX. A former graduate of Granbury High School, he received his finance degree from North Texas University & was a Financial Advisor with Fidelity Investments. A coach’s dream, Sam loved sports, especially football. He also loved music, the lake and going to the movies. Sam had the biggest heart and always had a smile on his face and gave the best hugs & kisses. He never knew a stranger and when he walked into a room, he could light up a room with his witty charm, smiles, and laughter. Always generous & kind and cared more for others than himself. He was a true blessing to all those that knew him. He had a deep love for his family, his friends and fraternity brothers. Sam had a bright future and always aspired to be the best he could be and never settled for less. Our angel forever missed but never forgotten. “Now cracks a noble heart. He is survived by his father and step-mother Dan & Pam Phillips of Granbury; Mother & step- father Shelly & Ron Ellison of Granbury; sisters & brothers, Jodie Phillips and fiancé Jimmie Pharr of Granbury, Madeline Phillips & fiancé Stephen Lloyd of Granbury, Drew Phillips of Los Angeles, CA, Jarrod Black and spouse Brisbane of Brownsville, TX and Brandon Black & Rachel Holmes of Salt Lake City, Utah, 3 nephews, Maddox Phillips, Axel Pharr & Knox Pharr; grandmother Joneda Phillips & spouse Willis Linneman; grandparents Al and Jean Rice of Weatherford; great-grandmother, Anna Williamson; numerous aunts , uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by Ron Phillips & Paul & Sharon Appleby.
Open visitation will be from 9 am – 8 pm on Monday; July 6 at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury TX. (social distancing and masks required)
A Celebration of life will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday; July 7 at Stonewater Church 911 E. Hwy 377, Granbury TX 76048.
