Thelma McPherson

Thelma McPherson, 95, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at her home in Patillo surrounded by family. She was born July 28, 1927, to Rubin C. and Stella Chick Jones in Purvis, Texas.

Service will be held at 2pm, Friday, November 11, 2022, at Patillo Baptist Church in Patillo, Texas. Visitation from 1-2pm, prior to the service. Committal service at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Patillo, Texas.

Thelma married the love of her life, James W McPherson, in 1946. They were married for 58 amazing years. She devoted her life taking care of her family, which she loved dearly. She operated the Patillo Grocery and Feed Store for 51 years. She was a remarkable cook. She loved her Dr. Peppers, enjoyed fishing, and spending time with family.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, James W.; son, Lewis McPherson; granddaughter, Sherri McPherson and seven siblings.

Thelma leaves behind, sons, Royce McPherson and wife Lena, Ruben McPherson and wife Johnnie; Daughter-in-law Karen McPherson; grandchildren, Riley McPherson and wife Maura, Kim Lobbes and husband David, Terri Collins and husband Mike, Chris McPherson and wife Natalie, Christi McPherson and partner Jennifer, Ruben McPherson and wife Kristie, Tammie Bowman and husband Jesse; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Retha Spaulding; extended family, Jorge and Isabel Hernandez and family; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
