Born: June 3, 1925 in Marion Township, Iowa.

Rick joined the Navy in 1943, and completed flight training in 1944. He was a turret gunner on a TBM Avenger. He was assigned to the USS Shipley Bay and later to the USS Cape Esperance. He was eventually land based in the South Pacific where he witnessed the end of World War II.
Rick was also proud to be a Mason. After the war he met and married the love of his life JoAnn, they were married for 64 wonderful years before she passed away on April 17, 2015. Our Dad was full of life and love, he never met a stranger.
Dad lived a very strong Christian life and was the inspiration to us all. There aren’t enough words to describe him, but your life was blessed if you knew him.
Our lives were changed with him in it and will forever be changed without him. He leaves behind a multitude of family and friends that will forever love him and thank him for all the things he taught us.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, and three brothers.
He is survived by a son: Joe Rickabaugh and wife Kay; daughter Kathy Stevens, grandchildren: Tory Morris, Kym Jones and husband Ben, Joey Rickabaugh and wife Elaunda, Mandy Watson and husband Cody, Brooks Goodson and wife RhaeAnn, and Jason Goodson; great grandchildren: Micalyn Stevens, Braedyn and Jayci Jones, Rylee and J.W. Rickabaugh, Savana Whitley, Knox and Addie Goodson, Jake and JJ Goodson, Alex Terrier, Tiffany Terrier, Jaki Lockridge, Jill Stevens; great-great grandchildren: Kennadee Thomas and Aiden Terrier.
