Clifford “Joe” Cox, age 80, passed away February 12, 2022.

Celebration of Life: 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Western Star Cowboy Church,

790 County Road 3696, Springtown, Texas.

Joe was born March 10, 1941 in Johnsville, Texas to Charles Emmett and Charty Rhudene (Parnell) Cox. He had three brothers, Wendell, Dwight and Odis Cox. They moved to Fort Worth when Joe was 15 years old.

Joe married the love of his life, Linda Ritchie and together they had five children. He was the BEST Harley Davidson mechanic in Texas for 40 years. His love for motorcycles and racing was well known throughout the racing community. Joe also was a backhoe operator for 20 years. He had a pick passion and love for horses and was a natural horseman. He also loved Native American Culture and was a teacher, as well as a gifted artist and poet.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Charty Cox, and his brothers, Wendell and Dwight Cox.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Ritchie) Cox; his children, Teresa Cox Teague, Lynn and David Crawford, Adam Trimble and his wife, Brittany Meagher and Shane Cox; Six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his brother Odis Cox

Grand pa joe... He was like my real grand pa and my spiritual confident together with god.. Lessons of live and forgiveness... I will missing hes voice whend always tellme ( i love you gus ).... I know now i will have credits with got because of my grand pa joe...

Deepest respect for you, for all the respect you gave me during the dance in Wanblee, touched deeply by you..... for always in my heart.

Thanks for being a good neighbor for so many years. We fought cancer together and I was blessed to call you my friend.

Joe was a teacher, mentor and storyteller to me. We camped by him during the Dance ... how I loved conversations with him. Learned SO much from him. May he rest in peace. Love to Linda, Odis and the whole family.

Joe was one of the greatest inspirations to many, but most importantly my husband and friend Ryan. Joe touched his life with such depth that words cannot describe. It was an honor to know him and be a part of his life. I’ll be forever grateful for his love and compassion that he shared.

My condolences to Linda and the family. Joe sounds like a wonderful person and no doubt you will miss him terribly. May God surround you with His love and give you peace.
